Extra Attic Self-Storage Sponsors the 17th Annual Son Run 5K

Extra Attic Self-Storage in Wilmington will once again be a Platinum Sponsor for the Wrightsville Methodist Son Run 5K on Saturday, October 10, 2015. This race benefits the Methodist Home for Children, A Safe Place, and The Carousel Center, three very important charities in our community.
Participants can sign up to run or walk a timed 5K course that takes runners along the flat, scenic Wrightsville Beach loop. There will also be an untimed Kids Fun Run, and the course is stroller and wheelchair friendly, so everyone can take part. The Kids Fun Run will begin at 8AM, and the 5K will follow at 8:30AM. There will be a cash award for the top male and female finishers, and all Kids’ Fun Run race finishers will receive a ribbon.
While the race is sure to be fun and exciting, the charities it benefits are even more important. A Safe Place is a Wilmington based organization that focused on prevention, advocacy, and restoration to assist victims of commercial sexual exploitation and help them recovering ownership of their lives. The Carousel Center provides comprehensive, coordinated, and compassionate services to victims of child abuse. And the Methodist Home for Children works to build strong families and protect children in the foster care system, including those who were born addicted to drugs or suffered from abuse and neglect. Together, these organizations are working to make Wilmington a better place for all of us, and Extra Attic is grateful for an opportunity to do our part by supporting this race and their efforts.
